JUDGMENT GIVEN

CASE OF HIBERNIAN CATHOLIC j BENEFIT SOCIETY irrtßs:) associatioh tei.eg»am.) WELLINGTON, November 22. A supplementary judgment, on a claim by the Northern (New Zealand) district of the Hibernian Australasian Catholic Benefit Society against the New Zealand District, was given by Mr Justice Ostler to-day. The plaintiffs asked for judgment for £5452 Is, with interest, and an order for vesting in them £B4OO 4s 7d. His Honour gave judgment in favour of tho plaintiffs on September 26, but suggested that instead of judgment being entered, the parlies should try to como to an amicable settlement. The supplementary judgment to-day states that the parties having failed to agree on the question of the costs of the action, it fell to his Honour to determine the question as justly as possible between them. He gave judgment for the plaintiffs for costs as on a claim for £SOOO, with witnesses' expenses and disbursements. He allowed £3 3s for an affidavit of discovery and £3 3s for inspection of documents. As plaintiffs and their solicitor were domiciled in Auckland, and the case had to be heard in Wellington, he allowed agency charges incurred, but not to a greater amount than £lO.
