MALVERN A. AND P. ASSOCIATION
♦ MEETING OF COMMITTEE The new committee of the Malvern - Agricultural and Pastoral Association, elected for the 1934-35 season, held its first meeting recently, when the senior vice-president, Mr J. S. Tolerton, presided over practically a full attendance of the committee. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr W. A. Hawke, a past member of the association, was carried, members standing in silence. The date for the association's next show, was definitely set for Thursday, April 18, 1935. A sub-committee was elected to enquire into the cost of erecting permanent poultry pens, and to report at a later meeting. In order to correct an anomaly in the allotting of points for placings, it was decided that where there were seven or more entries in a class, the points, instead of being raised from 3, 2, and 1, to 5, 3, and 1, should be raised to 5, 3, and IJ, thus increasing the third prize points in proportion with the rest. It was decided to lay down a concrete block for a measuring stand for horses, and a sub-committee was elected to arrange for the position on the ground. » It was reported that it was thought necessary to make better provision for the preparation and handling of the Hraught horses on show day, and a sub-committee was formed to find out what was required, and report. The revision of the schedule was proceeded with, and it was decided to insert a new class for ponies not to exceed 12.2 hands, to be driven. In the Southdown section, a new class was inserted for a Southdown ram lamb in natural condition, and to be shown by an exhibitor who had not previously won a first prize in a Southdown class.
