GRAZIER'S REMARKABLE WILL
♦ ATTEMPT TO IMPROVE THE RACE CONTESTS FOR YOUTHS A"ND GIRLS (Received November 18, 9.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 18. . The conditions of the remarkable will of Mr Peter Stuckey Mitchell are being brought to notice in the New South Wales Parliament. MiMitchell was a wealthy grazier, who died 10 years ago and left nearly £250,000 for the physical improvement of the Australian race by means of yearly contests limited to 10 males and 15 females. The main tests for males were to be physical fitness, honourable fulfilment of military obligations, and ability to Swim and ride horses. The youths must be under 21.
Females must have a knowledge of nursing and be capable of producing and rearing healthy babies. Both sexes must possess intellect and have a good understanding of climatic and geographical conditions in Australia. They must know something of English literature and of specific portions of the Bible.
