FLIGHT TO AUCKLAND AND BACK

Some good flying times were made by G. C. Lewis, of the Canterbury Aero Club, who arrived back in Christehureh on Saturday after a flight to Auckland. Leaving Christehureh on Thursday at 1.45 p.m. he arrived nt Palmerston North at 4,15 p.m. Getting away next morning at 6.15 a.m. he arrived at Auckland at 9.30 a.m, Setting out again at 10.25 a.m. Mr Lewis arrived at New Plymouth at 12.15 and left 20 minutes later for Wanganui, where he arrived at 2 p.m. Continuing on he reached Wellington at 3.45 p.m. From Palmerston North to Wellington, via Auckland, the trip took seven, hours and a half. The trip from Wellington to Christehureh was made in two hours and a half. Good weather was experienced to Palmerston North, but from there low clouds and three rainstorms were met. Flying back from Wellington on Saturday Mr Lewis ran into thick fog from the Clarence river to Amberley.
