SCHOOL SPORTS AT FENDALTON

* LONG PROGRAMME OF EVENTS SEVERAL RECORDS BROKEN The Fendalloii School fete and annual sports -were held yesterday on the school grounds. A long programme of events for boys and girls of all agos occupied most of the afternoon, and the sports were watched by n, large gathering of parents and friends. The weather was tine, and a wind, which freshened later in the afternoon, was of some assistance to competitors in the running events if it did not add to tho comfort of the. spectators. Several records were broken and tho best performances were those of G-. Guthrie, who established a new timo of 9 2-ssec in the 75 yards race- for boys uuder 11, G. Winterbourn who jumped 16ft 4in in the senior boys' long jump, and 11. Tinker, who threw the cricket ball a distance of 7G yards. Competition was close for the senior championship cups. The Hamilton Cup for the boys' senior championship was Avon by It. Tinker, witli 10 points, G. Winterbourn being runner-up with 9 points. For the Jioyds Cup, awarded to the winner of the girls' senior championship, G. Guthrie and V. Pring tied, with seven points each, the run-ner-up being M. Eenwiek, with six points. The Stewart Cup, for the 100 yards girls' open championship, was won by Venus Pring. The events for the junior cups, tho Byrne Cup (girls), and the Findlay Cup (boys), were not completed. The cups will be presented at the school prize-giving towards the end of. the term. The results were as follows:
