MELBOURNE CENTENARY
ATTRACTIVE DECORATIONS AT LORD MAYOI.'S BALL MELBOURNE, November 6. One of the most brilliant events of the Centenary cejebrations was the Lord Mayor's ball last night. The Town Hall was transformed into a bushland scene, with trees, ferns, and a running brook cascading over a boulder-strewn course. The illusion was complete, even to bush tracks winding among shady glades. The Duke of Gloucester attended and expressed admiration of the ingenuity of the decorations. New Zealanders present included the Mayor of (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.), ?nd '.he Mayor of Dunedin (the Rev. E. T. Cox).
Among the visitors who arrived, by the Monowai were General Sir Alexander Godley and MajorGenera 1 Sir Andrew Russell. They were welcomed by their war comrades and will take part in military events at the Centenary.
