M. Louis Bleriot told a special correspondent of the "'Daily Mail" that a twice daily trans-Atlantic air service, bringing London and Paris within 18 hours of New York, would be inaugurated within a year. M. Bferiot produced pfans of floating aerodromes which it is proposed to anchor in a cnam across the ocean, each consisting oi a landing platiomi 500 yards long, under wnien will be a hotel and restaurant, and accommodation for garaging and refuelling aeroplanes. Submarine propellers will enable the lloating aerodrome to be kept facing '.lie wind, facilitating landing-

Bleriot says the War Department, of the United States is backing the scheme, but wishes to begin with a trans-Pacific air mail and passenger service, after which it will operate one across the Atlantic. It is estimated that trans-Atlantic services will carry 80 passengers a day in the first year. The fare will be £BO, of which £l3 will be paid to the Seadrome and Ocean DocK Corporation, which will supply and maintain the floating aerodromes.
Great Britain and France are reported to be willing to co-operate in placing the aerodromes across the Atlantic, while Canada and Japan have been approached to support the Pacific service.
