MAN'S SUDDEN DEATH
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGKAJI.) WELLINGTON, October 15. A Wellington Harbour Board employee, Jack Calder, aged about 50, dropped dead on the King's wharf this afternoon.
The little-known fact that there Is a route in Wellington known as the "Prince of Wales's Drive" was revealed at a meeting of the Makara County Council. Cr. E. Windley puzzled the other councillors by sag--1 gesting jocularly that the foreman ? be instructed to put the "Prince of ■ Wales's Drive" in good order. With ' the approach of another Royal visitor it should not remain in its pre- [ sent state, he said. "Where is it?" : said the chairman, Cr. R. W. BOthamle'y, and the other councillors efc- ' pressed similar ignorance. "Nobody > knows where the Prince of Wales'B ■ Drive is?" continued Cr. Windley. : "It is the Takarau Gorge." upon further questioning, 'e explained that the Takarau Gorge was between Makara and Ohariu. He understood the Prince of Wales drove round the road, and it has been given that name. Another councillor said, amid the surprised amusement of the council, that the road was "only as wide as the table.'
