REUNION AFTER 17 YEARS

After 17 years, during which they had never seen or heard of each other, a brother and sister who left England about the beginning of the war, have found each other in New Zealand. A fractured skull was the means of the reunion. The brother, Frederick Ruff, an able seaman, received the injury when he fell on the deck of the Remuera. He was operated on at sea and admitted to the Wellington Hospital on the ship's arrival. Mrs L. Helsdon, of Flaxbourne, near Blenheim, read an account of the accident in the "Dominion," and wrote to the hospital authorities, but could not believe that it was really her brother until she learned of a tattoo mark on his body. The trip was an eventful one for Ruff, because after bis aceWcnt he met a nurse or. the ship and became engaged to her. They will bo married in Sydney in February.
