TWO MINISTERS VISIT ROTORUA
♦ DEVELOPMENT OF GALATEA ESTATE (I'RESS ASSOCIATION TELKGRAU. ROTORUA, October 8. The Minister for Lands (the Hon. E. A. Ransom) and the Minister for Education (the Hon. R. Masters; visited Rotorua over the week-en.i and spent two days on the Galatea estate, which is being developed b." the Lands Department. Interviewed to-day, Mr Ransom said he was very pleased with the progress of the development work. The stock was in excellent condition, and the pastures fully up to expectations. Fcr the present, however, he did not propose to depart from the policy of developing the estate by means of share milkers A number of these had already been established, and the policy was proving itself justified. Mr Masters investigated the pes sibility of erecting a school at th<; settlement, where already there are upwards of 20 children of school age. He said that although nothing definite had been arranged, it wa~ possible that the Lands Department would build a school and that the Education Department would supply the necessary equipment.
