ORCHARD—MACKENZIE The wedding was celebrated yesterday afternoon at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Oxford terrace, of Miss Ann Mackenzie, third daughter of Mr IF. Mackenzie, Christchurch, to Dr, David Orchard, third son of Dr. and Mrs A. J. Orchard, Latimer square.The Rev. A. Simmons performed the ceremony, and Mr R. E. Lake was the organist. , , ~ The bride was escorted by her father and attended bv her sister, Miss C. Mackenzie. Her" frock of white organdie lace mounted on stiff satin was made with a round yoke of velvet, and finished with a matching velvet sash and bow at the waist. The sleeves, cowled below the shoulders, were caught into long, tight cuffs trimmed with small velvet buttons, and the skirt, trimmed with frilling at the knee-line, flared to form a slight train at the back. Orange blossom held in place her veil of stiffened net bordered with old lace, and she carried a trailing bouquet of cream roses. Miss C. Mackenzie's frock of almond green silk crepe was finished with a pink velvet sash. The flared skirt was vandyked to the close-fitting bodice and the slashed puffed sleeves were tapered below the ebows. Her hat of green lace straw was trimmed with pink feather tips, and she carried a sheaf of pink roses. At the reception held at the Hotel Federal, Mrs F. Mackenzie, the bride's stepmother, received the guests. Scarlet buttons trimmed her frock of black crepe romaine, her black straw hat was finished with a scarlet buckle, and she carried a bouquet of scarlet flowers. The bridegroom's mother wore a frock of wineberry lace, and a black straw hat trimmed with velvet flowers to tone with her frock. Her bouquet was composed of ranunculi. For travelling, the bride wore an ensemble of mustard coloured wool crepe, the lapels and cuffs\ of the coat and the cape sleeves of the frock being relieved with faggotting. A brown velvet bow trimmed the back of the neckline, and her hat of brown cire straw was finished with a mustard-col-oured bow. Dr. and Mrs David Orchard will make their future home in Bealey avenue.
HOLMWOOD—DAWSON The wedding was celebrated recently of Dorothy Tenterden, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Dawson (St. Martins), to Albert George, seccnd son cf Mr and Mrs A. G. Holmwood, Nelson. The bride wore a lemon and brown swagger suit and a brown straw hat. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Merle Lyttlc, who wore an ensemble in shades of lemon and brown, and a hat to match, and Miss Dulcie Dawson (sister of the bride), who wore a floral georgette frock and a picture hat to tone. A small reception was held later at the home of the bride's parents. When Mr and Mrs A. G. Holmwood left by car for the north, the bride was wearing a frock of broken and check green marocain, a brown leather coat, and a hat to tone. Their future home will be in North Canterbury. MAKKHOLM—ROINTREE An evening wedding was celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Addington, recently, when Miss Lconic Rountree was married to Mr Albert Ernest Murkhohn. The bride was escorted by her uncie, Mr J. Armstrong. She wore an ivory georgette frock, made with a wide yoke effect and trimmed with a double frill. The panelled skirt was finished with a picot-edged frill at the hemline, and a sash at the waist. Tier French tulle veil was embroidered in silver thread, and was held in place with orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of belladonna roses and freesias. The bridesmaid, Miss Rene Dempster, wore a frock o£ honey-beige crinkle crepe, cut on classical lines, and finished with a sash of geranium velvet and double epaulet flares. Hev wide-brimmed hat was of geraniumred crinoline straw, trimmed with a velvet bow to match her sash, and she carried a bouquet of scarlet and lemon shaded flowers. At the reception held later, the guests were received by the bride"s mother, who wore a navy silk frock, relieved with white and a navy straw hat. She carried a bouquet of autumnMnted flowers.
