♦ MONDAY <Before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.) CHARGES OF ASSAULT A man aged 46, whose name was ordered to be suppressed, and for whom Mr A. I. Cottrell appeared, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within six months. TRAFFIC CASES Clarence F. Simpson, who made a voluntary appearance, was fined 5s and ordered to pay costs, for riding a bicycle against a traffic signal. Gilbert Haverfield was fined 10s and ordered to pay costs for parking a ear in a prohibited area. George Steele was fined 20s and ordered to pay costs, for driving a car with inefficient brakes. ! MAINTENANCE CASE ' 'Before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M.) For disobedience of a maintenance order, Thomas Shadbolt was convicted and sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment, issue of the warrant to be suspended provided arrears are paid off at the rate of 10s a week.
