THE MARCHIONESS OE LINCOLNSHIRE • Received October 8. 9.15 p.m.) LONDON, October 8. The death has occurred of the Marchioness of Lincolnshire. BASKETBALL CLUB'S DANCE Members of the Prebbleton Basketball Club held a dance in the public Hall, Prebbleton. on Saturday evening, the guest's including members of the Clarkville basketball team, with whom a match had been played in the afternoon. Dance music was supplied by Les. Kinsman's Band, extras being played by Miss Poppy Hammond. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Julia Tc/.cr (Clarkville) and partner, and other competitions were won by Miss Harriet Wilson •'Clarkville) and Mr G. Sutherland. In the card room, prizes were awarded to Mesdames J. Smith, and H. Goodwin, Messrs P. Dobby and W. Downey. Mr J. Smith was master of ceremonies. ' Those present included Mr and Mrs H. SOCIAL AT LINWOOD To celebrate the opening of the bowling and croquet season at Linwood, an enjoyable dance raid "flag 500" party were held in the Limvood Bowling and Croquet Club'.-, pavilion on Saturday.
