The results are now announced of the second annual speed typewritingcontest held by the Association of Commercial Science oi New Zealand. In the senior championship, the winner was Marjorie H. Jones, of Wellington, with 73:9 net words a minute. The junior champion was Barbara C. Morrison, Waitaki Girls' High School, with 54.6' words. In the senior event, placings were awarded down to 30 words and 31 passed. The additional leaders were R. V. Daniels. Auckland, 65.9; R_ D. Connell, Auckland, 60.9: P. Hodgkinson. Auckland, 59.8; L. A. Pettit, Dunedin, 59.4; F. M. Dick. Christchurch, 58.0; V. K. M. Cooney, Wellington, 57.9; H. Lawsun, Wellington, 57.7; K. Fleming, Dunedin, 54.6; B. D. Brackenridge, Christchurch, 51.4. In the junior section, 25 words passed, the principal awards being: J. Hodsdon, Auckland, 54.3; E. Hooper, Auckland, 54.2; M. E. Weston, Ashburton, 52.4; T. M. Becker, Auckland, 52; J. M. Lodder, Auckland, 502; U. F. Goldsmith, Auckland, -50. The total number of junior passes was 120. -
