RIFLE SHOOTING
METHVEN GUN CLUB Fine weather prevailed for the Methven Gun Club's closing day, which was held mi -Mount Harding racecourse on Saturday afternoon. There was a good muster of siiooters as well as supporters of tlio club. The shooting conditions wero somewhat difficult at times, as, although there, was little wind, the light was patchy. A programme of four shoots was put" on, which included the club championships. The linals for the president's trophy and the season's aggregate wero also concluded. The shooting was well up to standard, and a shootoff was necessary in each match. The club championship was won by K. It. Anderson. The final winner of the president's trophy was W. Anderson, who had a total of ii>6 points for the six shoots held. lie also secured 183 points in the aggregate for the season over till shoots, but was ineligible for the trophy presented by Mr J. T. Corbctt, which went to 8. 11. Anderson with 181 points. At the conclusion of the programme the president (Mr T. S. Harrison; congratulated the winners on their success.
