She will probably sail to-morrow for Duneclin. The Opihi. due this morninr-, from Timaru. will load for Nelson and New Plymouth, and is, to sail via Wellington.

The Waimarino should arrive here to-nicrrcnv from the south to ked iur Pieton and Auckland. The Wainui is due here on 'Linurday from Timaru, and is to sail the same day for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne. The Kiwitea is due hero on Saturday from Westport to discharge a small consignment of coal. She should sail the same day for Port C-iaV.u-rs, Dunedin. and Oamaru. The Breerc is timed to load for Lyttelton to-morrow for Wellington Wangamii, and New Plymouth. The Taupata should arrive here on Friday from Tarakohe, and wili Joad for Nelson, Mapua, and Molueka. The New Zealand Shipping Company's motor-vessel Orari is being fitted with special chambers to carry chilled beef. The total cost of maintaining the Dominion's coastal lighthouses during th.-; Marine Department's last financial year was £20,775. On August 21 the Albert Edward Dock, Newcastle-on-Tyne, celebrated its golden .jubilee. The dock was opened on August 21, 1884, bv King Edward VII., then Prince of Wales.

TANKER DUE TO-DAY The tanker South Africa is due here to-day fsom Wellington to continue discharge of her cargo of motor spirit from Los Angeles to the agencv of the Texas Oil Company. She will complete discharge at Dunedm ; and Australian ports. TEES EARLIER Advice from the Chatham Islands ; states that the Tees is expected to ! leave there to-day for Lyttelton. She ! is due here on Friday and is to sail ; the same day for Pitt Island only, via : Wellington. i STEAMER EXPRESS SERVICE ; The Wahine is to relieve the Ranga- ! tira in the steamer express service on 1 November 5, leaving Wellington on i that date for Lyttelton.
