MEETING OF COUNCIL A meeting of the council of the Canterbury Justices of the Peace Association was held last night, Mr A. M. Hobbs in the chair. The treasurer's report, showing a credit balance of £26 18s 4d, was adopted. Tjje usual grant of one guinea to the funds of the Canterbury Progress League was approved. It was announced that the senior magistrate. Mr a A. Young, S.M.,
would give an instructive address to members in the No. 2 court this evening. It was reported that several members had requested letters of recommendation to the Victoria Association for Use while attending the centenary celebrations.
