The course proper was open 50 feet out from the rails, and the going was holding. Lord, Val, Wee Pat. and Thespis •were associated over a round in 2min 14 4-ssec, the lari six furlongs in lmin 24 l-ssec. Lord Val finished two lengths in front of Wee Pat, with Thespis about a length away. Grand Sport went half a mile in 56 1-asec comfortably. Kelly, On Parade, and Killadar were in that order at the end of six furlongs, in lmin 24sec. All worked well. covered the last six furlongs of his work in lmin 23 2-ssec, hitting out nicely at the finish. Trevace went very freely while covering half a mile in 54 l-ssec. Sporting Blood did a similar task in 58 2-ssec. He went well.

Gold Pocket and Sporting Song finished in front of Sir Val at the end of six furlongs in lmin 28 4-ssec, and was under restraint at the finish.
