DEPARTURE FOR AUSTRALIA (PRES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGIUM.) WELLINGTON, October 5. The Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe, accompanied by Lieutenant J. C. Elworthy, R.N., A.D.C., left by the Monowai this afternoon for Australia. As his Excellency boarded the ship, the Union Jack was broken at the foremast head and flown there until the ship cleared the threemile territorial limit. The vice-regal salute was fired at Point Jerningham. SIR MICHAEL MYERS APPOINTMENT AS DEPUTY GOVERNOR-GENERAL | (PttKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGK.VM.) WELLINGTON, October 5. A supplementary Gazette issued to-night announces the appointment of the Chief Justice (the Rt. Hon. Sir Michael Myers) as deputy-Gov-ernor-Genera] during Lord Bledisloe's absence in Australia. The appointment is to take effect from 5 o'clock this evening.
