+ GREYMOUTH MINER INJURED iSfEiUL to rut; risisg.; GREYMOUTH, October 4. A miner, John McEnaney, married, of Blaketown, was injured in Faith and party's mine, near the Ten Mile this morning. He sustained a broken leg and was admitted to the Grey Hospital. Runanga School The new Kunanga school which was to have been opened on Monday next, will not now be opened until October 15. The building is ready for occupation, but owing to the wet weather the asphalt paths round the school have not sufficiently hardened, and it was deemed inadvisable to open the the school in the meantime. The children are accommodated in several halls in the township. Steam-heated Cars The first of the steam-heated cars on the West Coast-Christehurch evening goods trains commenced running last evening. It was not a very auspicious beginning, for there was only one passenger from Greymouth to enjoy the new comfort of the goods train. However, the average for August was 25, while there have been occasions when 40 persons have made the trip. Another convenience for passengers travelling by the goods train from Christchurch to the West Coast is that they will board the train on the main Christchurch platform, instead of having to make their way across the goods yard to where the train is usually made up. | Trout Fishing Yesterday Mr Harold Holmes, of Cowper street, took a fine bag of brown trout from the lower waters of the Grey river, the largest of the fish turning the scale at (>','lb. Other fishermen also reported good catches. Kunanga Co-operative Society At the half-yearly meeting of the Runanga Co-operative Society Mr G. Girl Guides At the annual meeting of the Greymouth committee of the Girl Guides' Association Mrs A. H. Wilde presided over a large attendance. The resignation of Mrs F. A.
