DISEASED DOGS AT SHOWS

to ran EDiroa or mi; rmss. Sir,—Mr Cook in his letter in "Tho Press" to-day objects to the so-called inference in my first letter, that dogs were admitted to tiie Timaru show suffering from distemper. He says that a spaniel in question certainly had signs of distemper. Yet it was allowed to be benched in the show. The result of the post-mortem would still lurthcr suggest this disease. My own dogs that have died from distemper revealed exactly the same state of lung trouble described by Mr Cook. The object of my first letter was not to stir up an argument with Mr Cook, but to endeavour to get the kennel clubs to issue very much stricter regulations relating to the admission of dogs to shows. —Yours, etc., F. R. WIIEELEY. October 4. 1934.
