CRICKET
MATCH AT KAITUNA
An enjoyable day was spent last Sunday, when a cricket team representing the City Cash Meat Company played the Kaituna cricket team, on the Kaituna ground. The home team won by 19 runs. For Kaituna the highest scorer was E. Turner with 51 runs and for the City Cash Meat Company E. Timrns was the highest scorer with 34 runs.
SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION
COMMITTEE MEETING The management committee of the Suburban Cricket Association met last evening. There were present Messrs E. King (chairman), J. E. Fleming, F. Harris, L. Watson, W. J. Hulbert, S. Cawtheray, F. Kiddey, E. Cox, S. Marks, L. Kirk, L. Hood, W. Beslman, A. Blackwood, H. W. Rogers, D. Mitchell, W. C. Aitken, G. Suckling, and A. Cullen. A letter was received from the New Zealand Cricket Council acknowledging receipt of the association's annual report and balance-sheet, and congratulating the association upon its successful administration. The Wilmer Cricket Club wrote asking for assistance in securing a wicket. The Tramway Club asked for entrance and registration forms. Colours were allotted to the various clubs as follows:—Midland, maroon and sky blue; Papanui Old Boys, green and black; Wcstport, maroon, gold, and white. The following sub-committees were appointed:—Register keeper, Mr F. Kid 'ey; permits committee, Messrs S. Cawtheray, L. Kirk, and D. Mitchell; judiciary committee, Messrs H. W. Rogers, E. King, A. Blackwood, and S. Cawtheray; competitions committee, Messrs E. King and E. Cox; postponements, Mr H. \V. Rogers; emergency, Messrs H. Rogers, E. King, and W. C. Aitken; grounds, Messrs W. L. Hulbert, S. Marks, G. Suckling, A. Cullen, T. Davison, W. Bestman, L. Hood, and F. Harris; senior selector, Mr F. Harris. It was decided that entries close at noon on October 8; that competitions commence on October 13, providing grounds are in order. It was decided to write to the Amuri Sub-Association suggesting that the match for the sub-association shield be commenced on November 21. It was agreed to suggest that the matches with the Canterbury Cricket Association's teams be played between tb.3 cricket association's fourth grade A teams |nri suburban junior B teams. It was decided to endeavour to arrange matches on Labour Day with Akaroa and Kaikoura cricket clubs.
CORSAIR CLUB At the annual meeting of the Corsair Cricket Club Mr C. A. C. Frost presided over a Irj-ge attendance. The report and balance-sheet were presented and adopted. It was stated in the report that the club had experienced a very enjoyable cricket season, and had filled fourth place in the competitions. The wicket this year is at Waltham Park, and an opening game was arranged for next Saturday afternoon. The practice nights were fixed for Mondays and Wednesdays. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr C. A. C. Frost; vicepresidents, Messrs J. Fox, R. Aitchison, and H. Moon: club captain, Mr L. Barrett; secretary, Mr E. Bailey; treasurer, Mr F. Greenbank; committee, Messrs C. G. Frost, A. Roberts, W. Whitehead, and F. Baldwin; delegate to City and Suburban Association, Mr F. Greenbank.
