EFFECT OF THE WINTER
TREATMENT IN THE SPRING
After the winter months many women find their complexions looking by no means their best. They lack that clear transparency which is one of the most important features in skin loveliness, and a muddy skin remains muddy no matter how skilfully rouge and powder are applied. There are several causes for a dullness of complexion at this season of the year. During the winter the skin has acted much less freely, and has stored up impurities instead of throwing I hem off in the natural way. Richer and oilier foods have been eaten and fewer salads and green stuffs, which, as everyone knows, are beauty's best friends. Lastly, during the cold weather, most women have been much less conscientious in carrying out cleansing and beautifying treatments at bed-time.
Before turning her thoughts to her spring wardrobe, therefore, the wise woman will set about acquiring a spring complexion, knowing that without it, the prettiest frock will become her only half as well. The following treatment is magical, in whitening and cleansing the skin, and should be done twice daily for the first, week. After that, three times a week should be sufficient.
Mix thoroughly together two cupful s of finely-ground almond meal, two fcaspoonfuls of grated Castile soap, and a quarter of a teaspoonful of powdered sulphur. This mixture should be put into a stoppered jar and kept tightly closed. Before going to bed at night and after the bath in the morning sponge
