F pursuance and in exercise of tne powers and authorities vested in it bv "The Counties Act, 1920." and "The Water Supply Act, 1908," and the Acts amending the same respectively, and of all and each any other power thereunto enabling it the Selwyn County Council by way of Special Order, makes and ordains the following By-law:— This By-law may be cited or referred to as "The Selwyn County Council Water Supply By-law, 1930," and shall come into force on the 17th day of September, 1934, the object and purport of which is to fix the charges to be paid for the supply of water in the Hororata Water Race district within the County of Selwyn and in the Sub-divisions thereof respectively. A full text of the provisions of the proposed By-law incorporating a Schedule of the annual charges for the supply of water is open for Public Inspection at the Office of the Selwyn County Council, Hororata, and can "be inspected during office hours without fee. Most of the charges are being lowered by 2$ per centum. The Resolution to make the foregoing By-law was passed by the Selwyn County Council at a Special Meeting of the Council held at the Council Chambers, Hororata, on the 30th day of July, 1934, and will be confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Council to be held at the office of the Council as aforesaid on Mondav, the 3rd day of September, 1934. Notice is hereby given that the Cheviot County Council proposes at a special meeting to be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, the 14th day of September, 1934, to consider a motion to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to the borrowing of a sum not exceeding £3700 for the purpose of legalising the proposed new Hurunui-Blythe Road and for the purpose of meeting the Council's share of the cost of fencing, gravelling, and incidental expenses in connexion with the said road. IT IS PROPOSED that the said loan shall be secured by a rate not exceeding 4d in the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property within a special rating area in the County. Any person having any objection to the proposed application is called upon to submit the same in writing to the Cheviot County Council not later than the day preceding the said meeting.
