THE WEATHER : A wanvi and pleasant day was again experienced yesterday, after a frost, of 7.6 degrees. The barometer rose to 30.55 inches during the morning, but was steady at 30.50 inches after midday. Wellington.—Yesterday was another fine sunny day, although a fairly fresh north-west wind prevailed. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 50.2 degrees, and the maximum during the day was 52.8 degrees. Dunedin—There was perfect spring weather yesterday, the sun shining from a clear sky. There was no wind, and the maximum temperature was 56 degrees. The barometer remained high at about 29.95 in. FORECAST (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) Ccneral Situation—An intense anticyclone still covers New Zerdand, the
highest pressure yesterday being over the North Island. An extensive depression is moving on to south-eastern Australia. ! Seas (New Zealand waters) smooth to moderate, later rising on the West Coast of the South Island. Eastern Tasman Sea—Norther lv Winds, moderate in the northern portion, with smooth to moderate seas; becoming strong in the southern portion, with rough seas. . Weather—Still fine generally, cloud increasing in western and far southern portion of the South Island, with rain setting in over those areas during to-morrow. Temperatures milder.
