FAVOURABLE MARGIN GROWING t STEADY IMPROVEMENT «{ RECENT MONTHS A steady widening of the favourable margin between Post Office Savings Bank deposits and withdrawals has been revealed by the Director-General of the Post and Telegraph Depart, ment, Mr G. Referring to the use of telephones, Mr McNamara said that the peak load of subscribers was 132,807 in March, 1931. At the present time there were 123,591 subscribers. The month of July last showed the highest gain since December 30 last, but July was the twelfth consecutive month which showed a net gain in subscribers. The increase was spread over the whole Dominion.
