Carried on the back like a knapsack, a portable petrol engine weighing about 301b has been introduced in ihe United States. The engine has numerous attachments so that it can perform almost any outside task usually done with hard tools. The crackless rwo-stroke power plant develops one horse-power at 3000 revolutions a minute, and uses about one-half pint of petrol an hour. The flexible shaft has the control throttle handy at the end next to the tool being used. The various units can be attached or released by hand from the coupling without using bolts, nuts or keys.
