* CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION MEETS A meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Wrestling Association was held on Monday evening, those present being Messrs P. R. Climie (in the chair), A. P. Craig. W. J. Loader, G. C. Osborn, A. Shearsby, J. S. Shaw, J. B. Gott, N. S. Batchelor, L. Cornaga, and H. A. Barrett (secretary). A match between Dean Detton and Tony Felice for Wednesday, September 5, was confirmed. It was resolved to present cups to the winners of the Canterbury amateur championships. The following were selected to attend training for the South Island championships, to be held at Dunedin on September 5 and 6:—Fly-weight and bantam-weight, R. H. Mundy; feather-weight, S. Todd; light-weight, J. F. Genet; welter-weight, V. L. Thomas, J. H. Savage, F. T. Brooks; middle-weight, W. Mitchell. R. J. Hyde; light-heavy-weight, A. K. Ashcr; heavy-weight. D. G. Simpson. The final selection of a team of ;;ix to attend the championships was left to the match committee. Mr A. P. Craig was appointed trainer-manager of the championship team.
