CYCLING CONTROL

A meeting of the New Zealand Cycling Federation was held last evening. Present: Messrs W. J. Walter (chairman), J. M. Coffey, J. Sturrock, P. C. Lucas, and H. D. London (secretary). Apologies were accepted from Messrs G. R. Giles and J. Hancox. Mr Sturrock raised the question of cash riders going abroad without holding federation (Union Cycliste Internationale) licenses. The chairman said that the cash body should now issue licenses to its cash riders. The amateur body was already doing so. It was agreed to write to the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union asking when it intended to issue the proper federation licenses to riders, as when going abroad they would not then require to reregister in the other country. The secretary presented the final draft of the federation's constitution which, on the motion of Mr Sturrock, seconded by Mr Lucas, was adopted. One of the amendments provides for any organisation controlling an open championship race to forward full particulars of the result to the federation [ within 28 days for record.
