ASHBURTON MOTORISTS' CAMP SHIFTED The campers' hut situated on the AshDurton branch of the Canterbury Automobile Association's camping ground near the north approach of the Ashburton traffic bridge, has been removed to the reserve on the opposite side of the main road, which will be used in future as a camping ground by the association. The site of the old ground will be used as an approach to the new railway bridge over the Ashburton river, the work on which has just been begun. The same conveniences as at the old ground are being installed at the new site for use by campers. Success of Ashburton Lodge At the quarterly meeting of the Success of Ashburton Lodge, U.A.0.D., the A.D., Sister B. Wallis, presided. Visitors were present from the Star of Ashburton Lodge. It was agreed to invite the Star of Ashburton and Lily of Temuka Lodges to a meeting on September 17, when a mock birthday will be held. One candidate was initiated. Boxing Association A meeting of the general committee of the Ashburton Boxing Association was held on Tuesday evening, Mr H. D. Johnston presiding. It was decided to abandon the proposal to hold the next tournament on August 2f s but to hold the Mid-Canterbury championships on either August 30 or September 1. A deputation from the Rakaia Boxing Club attended and after a general discussion it agreed to become affiliated with the Ashburton Association, which accepted the officials to conduct the amateur tournament at Rakaia on August 28. Mr M. B. Brown, secretary of the Rakaia club, thanked the association for its assistance to the club in the past, and assured it that the club would do its best to carry out the wishes of the association. Women's Hockey A final trial game for the Ashburton representative team, which has been chosen to take part in the New Zealand tournament, will be played on the Ashburton domain on Saturday at 3 p.m. The following players will also participate: J. Watson, L. Low, E. Musson, W. Low. A. Low. R. Donaldson, I. Morris, M. Low (Hinds), P. Brand (High School), E. Cretney and M. Cretney (Methven). Should any of the representative team be unable to make the trip J. Brown (forward) and A. Lowe (half) have been chosen to fill the vacancies.
