ALL BLACKS' GOOD WIN NEWCASTLE A LIGHT TEAM jjITJSR COMBINATION SHOWN (r.irsJ) to*** i.ss(ifi*TK»»-K» tLXcmia * XSLJWaAVU-C-OI'TUKiHT.) (Received August 22, 11 p.m.) NEWCASTLE, August 22. Showing better combination and team work than in any other match <his tour, and benefiting by Kilby's generalship, the All Blacks beat Newastle by 35 points to 3, before a tfowd o£ 3000. The New Zealand forwards, averaging a stone a man heavier and two inches taller than the Newcastle pack, had a tremendous advantage and kept the backs well supplied with the ball. This advantage , vas well exploited and the New Zealand rearguard often had an overlap in attack and always in defence. In nlte of several weeks' training, Newcastle was unable to hold the visitors, although only 11 points were scored jn the second half. Most of the points {were scored during 12 minutes in the first half. The game wad marred in both halves by frequent scrummages and stoppages for injuries, 20 minutes extra havings to be played. The All Blacks started slowly, remaining in their own territory for 20 minutes before warming up. Then the backs went away in a pretty movement, Oliver making the first of a scries of brilliant cut-ins during the match before passing to BullockDouglas, who scored an unconverted try. This movement was repeated on Holder's wing, and Collins converted. Newcastle still held the territorial advantage, but never looked dangerous. New Zealand, with greater penetration in the inside backs, with Kilby's inimitable style and able co-operation jrom the forwards, looked like piling up a record total. Barry and Smith each scored one and Bullock-Douglas two more tries before the end of the Jialf, but play slowed down to a patchy performance. At half-time the score was:
New Zealand 21, Newcastle 0. After half-time the forwards excelled themselves and. led by McKenzie, who replaced McLean, played some sound Rugby, during which Mahoney scored. Collins converted. The only sensational incident in this half was when Collins took a high catch and scored from the full-back position. He converted four tries and }pe penalty. Newcastle's points came from a penalty for offside play. The ground, soft after rain which fell yesterday, suited the All Blacks, particulary after the hard Brisbane grounds, and all played with more confidence. McKenzie, as usual, was the most brilliant forward in all departments, and gave a great exhibition of how to work honestly and still shine in the open. Knight, Mahoney, and Leeson were good {hough mostly in hard rucking. Bul-tyck-Douglas, for the first time, played on form. His tries were fine efforts. Lilburne and Oliver made a strong fn attack* "* defence and Penetrative At the final civic function in Australia at Newcastle to-day, Mr A J hj„ i u (mana SW said every man had been loyal to him, gentlemen praise toe fleM ' ani worthy of

This year the side has done some heavy scoring, which Indicates a preference for the open, passing game. Bramwell, as full-back, is reported to be a safe defender and a good kick. The three-quarters, Oiliver, Moffatt and Bradley, are fast and nippy, Bradley being the best of the three.
