An angry mob attacked Blue Shirts iu O'Connell. street. Strong forces of police are patrolling the city. Further disorders are feared during the Blue Shirt Congress. The Dublin correspondent of the "Daily Mail'' says: "A calf which had been auctioned, clad in a blue shirt, was carried by a procession of thousands of farmers demonstrating at Mullingar after a forced sale of cattle for non-payment of land annuities "The farmers had previously made an effort to prevent the auction by felling trees at dangerous road corners. Civic Guards and armed detectives sawed their way through, but when the roads were cleared farmers felled more trees to prevent Ihc removal of the cattle by motor. NEWSPAPER STRIKE OWNKIfS NOT WU.UM; TO KELEXT LONDON. August 17. The Dublin correspondent of "Th* Times" states that the newspaper strike is now three weeks old. The owners have lost revenue from the horse show, but are determined not to relent until the strikers' demands are more reasonable.
