♦-- SAFE LANDING MADE (Received August 17, 8.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 17. Passengers on the Brisbane to Sydney mail aeroplane received a shock when the centre engine propeller flew to pieces in mid-air. The machine at the time was only a few miles from-Mascot aerodrome and the pilot landed it with only the two outboard engines working.
