♦ SCIENTIST'S NEW RECORD HAMILTON (Bermuda), August 15. Dr William Beebe, the wellknown scientist and student of deep-sea life, set a new record for deep-sea diving in his bathysphere to-day. reaching a depth of 3028 ft, exceeding the record lie made last Saturday by 518 ft.
