+ Sir William Hunt arrived from the north by the Rangatira yesterdav morning. Flight Sergeant S. Simpson was among the passengers from the north yesterday morning. Brigadier-General A. W. Andrew returned to Christchurch yesterday morning by the Rangatira. Sir Robert Anderson, of Invercargill, will arrive from the north tomorrow morning and travel south in the Christchurch-Inveicargi", express. Mr D. Roland, of Christchurch, returned yesterday from a visit lasting two years and a half to Central Europe, during which he visited Austria, Hungary, Germany, Rumania, Bulgaria, Jugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia. He expects to spend a few weeks here before leaving for Australia. Professor Hugh Stewart, principal of the University College of Nottingham, who is at present on a short holiday visit to New Zealand, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning. Professor Stewart was Professor of Classics at Canterbury College from 1913 to 1926, with the exception of the years during which he commanded the Second Battalion of the Canterbury Regiment at the Great War. He was president of | the Christchurch branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association in 1924-25. Professor Stewart will remain in Christchurch about a week.
