Miss Marawill Burnett, who was staying at her home in Wai-iti road, has returned to Te Aka Station Hakataramea. Staffs' Dance After a lapse of about eight years the combined staffs of the Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association held a ball last night in the Caroline Bay Hall, the event proving to be a memorable success. The company's colours, gold and black, formed the keynote of the decorations, streamers, and masses of greenery combining to transform the ballroom, while on the supper tables were vases of spring flowThe committee responsible for the success of the ball consisted of Misses I. McLennan, M. Sparks, G. Grant, and U Wright, and Messrs A. R. Graham, W. Ruston, G. Bull. J. Hewson, V. McKeague, and G. Fairbrother. Miss McLennan wore a frock of black georgette patterned in a floral design in tones of red, green, and yellow, the long sleeves being slashed at the top to form a cowl, and small black velvet ties caught the bodice at the neck and waistline. Miss Sparks wore a frock of black panne velvet relieved ; with a shoulder spray of orchids; Miss, Grant wore a floral georgette frock with coatee finished with a white fox fur collar; Miss Wright's close-fitting frock was of white angel-skin lace and satin. . . An exhibition dance was given by the Misses Mackay. About 300 dancers were present, ' among whom were Mr and Mrs A. Shirt- '■ cliff and Mr and Mrs A. R. Graham • (Timaru), Mr and Mrs A. G.
