It is estimated the consumption of bananas by Canadians has increased 30 per cent, in the last few years, due to improved shipping, handling, storing and ripening methods and a greater respect for the food value of the fruit, according to officials of the Canadian National Steamships, whose liners and freighters take huge quantities of bananas to Montreal, Halifax and bt. John from Jamaica and recently Iran the Lesser Antilles Islands and .Trinidad.
