HUGE RUDDER FOR CUNARDER By far the largest rudder ever made has been constructed at Darlington for the giant Cunarder that is being built at the Clydebank shipyard, Glasgow. It weighs 140 tons. The ruddei will be assembled at the yard and tested thoroughly by experts before being dismantled and reassembled on the ship. The funnels of the great Cunarder will be 100 feet in circumference, or about 30 feet in diameter. The forward funnel will be more than 70 feet in height from the boat deck, the two other funnels decreasing in height. From the keel to the top of the forward funnel will be approximately 180 feet, equivalent in height to a building of 15 stories. Have you anything to sell—Do you wish to buy?
