MAN FOUND DROWNED
iI'KE-jS association TCLEQUAM.) GKEYMOUTH, August .15. ! A body which has since been identified as that of Richard Skilton, an elderly married miner, of Piunanga, was found washed up on the Cobden beach this morning. Skilton had not been seen since Sunday, when he attended a whippet race meeting at Cobden. It is understood that a watchman on a vessel in port saw a man walking by the wharf at 3 a.m. on Monday, and later heard a splash, but could see nothing in the river. He however reported the matter to the police, but as nobody was reported r«issing, no search was made then for a body. Skilton was employed in the New Point, Elizabeth co-operative mine.
