He was convicted and admitted to probation for two years, ami ordered to take out a prohibition order. Chief-Detective W. 11. Dimh.p Mod the complainant was in Die Provincial Hotel when accused came up. put hi; hands on the complainant's shoulder.and made some remark. Later complainant found that his watch wa 1 ; inissing and a man in the hotel said he had seen accused lake the watch. Later recused was arrested with the watch in his possession. He had seven previous convictions, four for theft. Mr Kiis-'dl said the act had been committed foolishly while' aceu.-td waunder the influence of liquor. Ho had no intention of keepim-; the watch. A MONTH'S fIAOL Thomas Henry Clark-on, a labourer, aged 'I!!, was sentenced (o a mouth'., imprisonment with hard labour on a charge of trespassing on his wife's property during the curri ocy of maintenance and separation orders, lie was convicted and discharged for breaches of his prohibition order, for failing to comply with the terms of his release on probation, and for drunkenness. ADULTERATED MILK Robert Hope Monerieff Aitken. of Buckley's road, was convicted and lined .Cl.'S for selling milk to which, water had been added. Defendant admitted selling the milk, but denied that he had added water to il. He said he bou.uht the milk fiom a farm. For the Health Department it was. stated that 29 per cent, of water had been added, which was very high. Defendant had been before the courl \2 months aim. A sample taken at the farm where defendant bought his mill; showed no added water.
