I Prince Gonzalo, aged 20, fourth : son of the former King of Spain. : died from injuries received in an , accident to a car driven by his sister. Princess Beatrice, who was slightly injured. A London message says that Prince Gon/.alo died of shock, which i produced internal ha;morrhage, the ! arrest of which was impossible as he suffered from hereditary haemophilia. Princess Beatrice swerved to avoid a cyclist, and collided with a wall. The car was hardly scratched. Prince Gonzalo complained of illness only when he arrived at Poertschach, where former King Alfonso was staying. A doctor found that an operation which might have saved his life was impossible because of weakness of the heart.
