WIHEI.f'.SS.) j RUGBY, August 13. i General satisfaction was exi pressed during the week-end at the agreement reached between the railway companies and the men's unions on the wages question. The men had asked for the return of the whole of the economy cuts which took effect in 1931, but the companies, while admitting an improvement in the traffic figures, maintained that this had not proceeded sufficiently for them to meet the men's request. As a result of the railway industry's conciliation machinery a compromise was l-eached, the men agreeing to accept partial restoration of the wage-cuts. I
