i SPECIAL SITTING OF N.S.W. COMMISSION EXTKA AUDITORS APPOINTED SYDNEY. August 14. Ah unexpected development in the conduct of the Royal Commission enquiring into the activities of 17 trust companies occurred this morning, when the commission resumed its sittings six days before the date originally fixed. Mr Justice Halse Rogers said the sitting was called to decide the question of appointing independent auditors to assist the Auditor-Gen-eral's officers, who had declared that their investigations could not be completed in the time allowed. With the agreement of counsel two independent auditors were then ap- j pointed. , Mr W. Monahan. K.C., who is as- I si sting the Royal Commissioner, said j that when the commission resumed on Monday he would have other witnesses to examine. The commission adjourned untiJ 1 Monday.
