DEATH FROM SLEEPY SICKNESS
CASE IN WAIKATO HOSPITAL (FBCSS ASBOCIATIOB TEL»UEAM.) AUCKLAND, August 14. A fatal case of encephalitis lethargica (sleepy sickness)) occurred at the Waikato Hospital, when a nurse employed in the hospital, Margaret Mary Meeking, aged 23, daughter of Mr and Mrs L. Meeking, of Hora Hora, died of the disease. Miss Meeking, who has been on the hospital * staff since 1931, became ill a fortnight ago. No other cases of the disease have been reported in the Waikato district.
