GOVERNOR-GENERAL
♦ VISIT TO M'RSK MAUDE ROOMS TO-DAY A visit to the rooms of the Nurse Maude District Nursing Association will be paid by his Excellency the Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe) at 11.45 this morning. Earlier in the morning he will pay a visit of inspection to the factory of Duckworth, Turner and Company, Limited, in Carlyle street. In the afternoon Lord and Lady Bledisloe will visit the School for the Deal' at Sumner. Their Excellencies will have no public engagements in the evening. Yesterday Lord and Lady Bledisloe attended the Grand National meeting at Riccarton. After the Grand National steeplechase their Excellencies, accompanied by the chairman of the Canterbury Jockey Club, Mr A. S. Elworthy, Mrs Elworthy and the noted traveller and explorer. Sir Hubert Wilkins visited the saddling paddock and inr,-"'ed Valpeen, the winner, and chatted with the jockey. In the evening their Excellencies, attended by Lieutenant J. C. ?Jlworthy, R.N.. A.D.C., attended the Christchurch Hunt Club Ball in the Caledonian Hall.
