DECISION TO APPEAL ABANDONED
ANNOUNCEMENT BY FORMER VICAR (rn&33 ASSOCIATION TELEdRAM.) CAMBRIDGE. August 14. In a statement this afternoon about the announcement of his intention to appeal against the decision of the magistrate (Mr S. L. Pater son), and defend the claim for possession of the vicarage at Cambridge, the Rev. u. Gordon Bell said: . _ ~ "After much consideration, I have been led to abandon my intention of appealing and defending the action due to be heard at the next session of the Supreme Court in Hamilton. in is means that I have been forced back upon what has been my contention throughout—that the matter is one which should be settled by the exercise of authority within the church itself. Ido not acknowledge the jurisdiction of the civil courts in the matter. I am willing to endure any consequences arising out of my failure to go further in civil court proceedings.
