! WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION j CLUB DELEGATES' MEETING | A meeting of the club delegates to the Canterbury Women's Hockey AsI sociatiori was held last evening, Mr H. Throp presiding over a large attendance. The chairman stated that the meeting had been called to arrange for subcommittees for the control of the women's hockey tournament which is to be held in Christcburch from September 1 to September S. The secretary reported that: an entry of 18 teams had been received, two from Canterbury and 16 from other provincial associations. The entry necessitated the billeting of 240 visiting hockey players, and the local clubs were asked to find billets for the visiting teams. The Technical Old Girls' Club wrote nominating Miss Eileen Byrne as the club's queen in the carnival. The chairman reported that the Technical College Board had granted the use of the sports ground at Ensor's road, and the tournament would be held on that ground. The following were the nominations received: — A Section—Canterbury B, Southland, Wellington, Bush Union, West Coast, Marlborough. B Section—Akitio, Central Otago, Canterbury A, Eastern B, Ashburlon, and Ruahine. C Section—North Otago, Wairarapa, Otago, Eastern A, South Canterbury, and Manawalu.
