NOTICE hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Christchurch Tramway Board, held on the 9th day of July." 1934. a resolution was passed amending the Christchurch Tramway By-law 1914 and adding new clauses. The resolution will be submitted for confirmation at an ordinary meeting of the Board to be held on Monday, 6th day of August, 1934, at 1 p.m., at the office of the Board, Cathedral Square, Christchurch. The objects or purports of the amendments, and additions to the Bylaw are to provide that any person purchasing a pass or ticket bearing the woi*.s "not transferable" shall write his name thereon and shall hand it to the conductor for inspection on each journey, and also when requested by the conductor to do so. Conductors are empowered to impound any ticket marked "not transferable" pending enquiry as to whether | breach o£ By-law has been com- j mitled. j The amendments also provide that a Bank Note shall not be tendered in payment of a fare, and also that if a person proceeds beyond the distance paid for he shall pay a further fare.
