MEMORIAL TO MR MCCOMBS
Preliminary work t.o the provision «>f a memorial to the late Mr J. McCombs. M.P., by way of beautifying t«rt of Woolston Park, is in hand. The reserves department of the Christchurch City Council hopes to be able to begin planting under the scheme »t the end of August. The plants will be indigenous trees and shrubs, particularly those plants that are peculiar fo the Port Hills and the Chatham Island*, which were in Mr McCombs's doctorate. ,
