OBITUARY

MR P. DALRYMPLE

Mr Peter Dalrymple, a well-known sportsman, died in the Lewisham Hospital last evening after a short illness. Mr Dalrymple was a keen cricketer, angler, and bowls player. He was born in Southland, and was a Southland representative cricketer. Until the time of iiis death he was a member of the New Zealand Cricket Council and a vice-president of the Elmwood Bowling Club. Before his retirement several years ago Mr Dalrymple was assistant district land registrar. He leaves a widow, one son, and one daughter. The death has occurred of Mr Walter Bennett, a former Cabinet Minister, who died at his home, at Cremorne, after an illness of six or eight weeks. Mr Bennett was born in Wellington, New Zealand. His son is editor of a local agricultural journal.
